FaZe Clan Is The Latest Org To Dissolve VALORANT Roster
Valorant

Hours ago, FaZe Clan revealed that it would be bidding farewell to its men’s VALORANT roster. It has never been a super successful team and has struggled considerably of late to gain any traction – the team’s last first-place finish came in March 2022. It comes as no surprise that FaZe Clan is the latest in a line of organisations pulling out of VALORANT esports at this level, as the off-season has just kicked off and it’s going to be a lengthy one.
It’s believed that FaZe Clan will still field a female team in VALORANT, focused on dominating the Game Changers Series. For now, the likes of babybay, poised, supamen, mummAy, and TiGG have been released by FaZe Clan. That’s another huge organisation to withdraw from VALORANT, as in recent weeks, G2 Esports and TSM also said goodbye to their rosters.
FaZe Clan Pulls Back
It’s not a huge surprise that FaZe Clan has pulled out of VALORANT, but it’s still a shock and we do feel for the players that have now been dropped. At present, the community waits for the VALORANT Champions tournament that’ll begin on August 6th and will be played out in Los Angeles. Following that end-of-year event, the off-season begins in earnest, but for those that didn’t qualify, the off-season is live as we speak.
It’s not an indicator that VALORANT is dying, but at the moment, there are no tournament plans outside of the VALORANT Champions event. Nothing has been announced by Riot Games for the foreseeable future, and that has been a huge contributor to FaZe Clan and other organisations making the decision to leave their rosters behind.
In recent news, it was suggested that FaZe Clan is potentially paying attention to full acquisition offers. It’d be a total buyout of the beleaguered esports and gaming organisation that has been in the news a lot in recent months, all for the wrong reasons. Outside of CSGO (and potentially Rocket League), FaZe’s esports teams have been suffering, and there have been plenty of controversies bringing down the content creation and influencer side of the brand’s activities.
What’s Next for VALORANT?
What’s next is the VALORANT Champions tournament, but beyond that, there’s little information as to what’s happening in the competitive space. There are still those waiting for VALORANT Mobile to surface, and as usual, Riot Games will continue to plug the game full of updates and new agents. It remains a very popular game overall with a bright, dynamic, and diverse future, so that’s something positive to take away from this discussion.
