We are heading into the first Valorant off-season with the partnership program in place. Most teams are looking to bolster their ranks for next season and plenty of undiscovered talent awaits their chance to show up on the big stage.

Gen.G cleans house and starts anew

Gen.G has decided to part ways with nearly its entire eight-player Valorant roster. The only exception being their star duelist, Kim “Meteor” Tae-O. This announcement came on September 8th, leaving fans and analysts alike pondering the future of Gen.G in Valorant esports.

Gen.G’s Valorant roster for the 2023 VCT season was nothing short of promising. The team, led by head coach Chris “Elmapuddy” Tebbit and coach Lee “bail” Sung-jae, boasted a lineup of skilled players such as Yeom “eKo” Wang-ryong, Kim “GodDead” Sung-sin, Lee “k1Ng” Seung-won, Yu “TS” Tae-seok, Kim “Secret” Ha-jin, and Ko “Sylvan” Young-sub. Their contracts have now expired, leading to their release from the team.

While Meteor remains on the team, Gen.G’s future plans in Valorant esports are still shrouded in mystery. The organization did share a heartfelt tribute to its former roster, acknowledging their struggles and efforts. It’s likely that Gen.G is planning to rebuild its roster around Meteor for the upcoming 2024 VCT season.

Team Heretics looking for the next Turkish prodigy

Team Heretics is making headlines with a verbal agreement to bring in Turkish flex player Mert “Wo0t” Alkan, formerly of Fire Flux Esports. Wo0t, who turns 18 in March 2024, is expected to join the starting roster then. The team had a rocky 2023 season, finishing 2-7 in the EMEA league. Wo0t’s addition could be the catalyst for a turnaround, especially given his versatility in playing initiator roles. However, Team Heretics will need to sign another player to fill in until Wo0t becomes eligible to play.

Sentinels decides on a new In-Game Leader

Sentinels have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Mouhamed “johnqt” Ouarid, a free agent and former M80 player, to lead the team in the 2024 VCT Americas season. The team is also expected to move pANcada back to the controller/smokes role.

Cloud9: Familiar Faces and New Additions

Cloud9 is reportedly bringing back Anthony “vanity” Malaspina and adding former G2 star Francis “OXY” Hoang to its 2024 roster. The team is also keeping Erick “Xeppaa” Bach and Jake “jakee” Anderson. However, there’s no word yet on Nathan “leaf” Orf’s status with the team. The new lineup follows a series of departures, including Zellsis, runi, and coach mCe.

100 Thieves: Two Exits

In a significant roster shakeup, 100 Thieves has confirmed the departure of VALORANT pros Derrek Ha and Brenden “stellar” McGrath. The move comes after a disappointing season and follows other organizational changes, including the exit of key management figures. The team is now left with just three active players as it looks to rebuild.

Sentinels: Official Move

In a strategic move for the 2024 season, Sentinels have officially signed former M80 IGL Mouhamed “johnqt” Ouarid. This marks johnqt’s debut in a franchised VALORANT team and addresses Sentinels’ previous leadership gaps. The team also extended Tyson “TenZ” Ngo’s contract, solidifying a versatile roster for the upcoming year.

Global Esports

In a significant roster shakeup, Global Esports has parted ways with its standout Indonesian player, Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha.
