After its incredible success and nearly two-year wait, LoL fans finally have the release date of Arcane season 2.
Arcane Season 2 Release Date leaked at the Tencent Video V Vision Conference
Ever since its release back in 2021, fans and viewers have been waiting for the sequel of the first season of Arcane. And while former Riot CEO Nicolo Laurent told us a while ago that the series won’t be arriving this year, we finally have some updates regarding the Arcane Season 2’s release date.
On September 1, LeagueOfLeaks tweeted out a great piece of information, revealing that Arcane season 2 will be coming in Q4 of 2024, meaning that there will be around one year of wait left. The information came from the 2024 Tencent Video V Vision Conference, held in Shanghai, China. For those who are not familiar, Tencent has been the parent company of Riot Games since 2015.
What is the expected date of release?
While we do know that the animated series is coming in the last quarter, it’s still not confirmed in which months Arcane will be coming in. Based on what happened with the release of the first season, it’s likely going to be coming in November (which was when season 1 was released) or December.
Arcane is produced by Riot Games in collaboration with Fortiche, a French animation studio from Paris. Towards the end of 2022, Rioter Christian Linke, while answering an AMA on Reddit, confirmed that all scripts had been written, but tweaks were made in the process to perfect them. He also mentioned “war” as a summary of season 2’s story, hinting at explosive battles and attacks between Zaun and Piltover.
This year, Linke also tweeted out in mid-May that Arcane 2’s soundtrack “is gonna be something very special”, which is setting up the hype for the second season. We’re going to have to wait a bit more, but fans will at least rejoice knowing we will get the series next year.
