What’s New in Fortnite Fortnitemares 2023?
A Halloween event is descending on the Battle Royale with the release of Fortnitemares 2023. This new event brings a few spooky elements to the world of Fortnite, Fortnitemares is more than just a Halloween skin on the surface of the game though. We’re getting new items, skins, and special quests which come with their own rewards. Chapter 4 Season 4 seems like a perfect season for Fortnitemares 2023 too. We’ve already got a vampire boss on the map, but what else has changed?

Fortnitemares 2023
Fortnite Fortnitemares is a fun event that happens every Halloween. This time it’s running from October 10th through to early November. Over the next few weeks, there are a few special quests, but also in-game content and even some rewards for playing around with the new stuff. These are the fresh items and other modes for Fortnitemares 2023.
New Weapons
- Wood Stake Shotgun – Special Shotgun built to take down Kado Thorne.
- Thorne’s Vampiric Blade – Mythic dropped by Thorne, a Kinetic Blade with a mechanic that gives you health for damage dealt with the blade.
- Pumpkin Launcher – A rocket launcher, re-styled to have a pumpkin face.
- Witch Broom – Mobility item returning. Shoot up in the air and redeploy your glider as a special witch’s broom.
- Sanguine Sweets – New consumables, each has a unique effect.

In-Game Quests and Rewards
Another big part of the Fortnite Fortnitemares 2023 update is some special quests and rewards. There are a few in-game cosmetics you can unlock for completing challenges with the new weaponry and mechanics. These are all Halloween themed. There’s no free skin this time, but plenty of extra cosmetics to enhance your favorite Fortnite outfits. These are the rewards on offer:
- Bat Royale Back Bling
- Cat Banner
- Sweet Emote
- Phantasmic Fall Contrail
- Hypno-Bat Spray
- Revenant Rider Glider
- Within the Sanctum Loading Screen
- Rise of the Revenant Lobby Track
Those are the cosmetics you can get in the main Battle Royale. The Halloween Horde mode is making a comeback this season too. This section has its own quests you can check out. These are the rewards for this side of the game.

New Skins for Fortnitemares 2023
That’s most of the in-game changes that have come with the Fortnite Fortnitemares 2023 update. There are also some fresh cosmetics though. If you want to grab all of them, you’ll likely have saved up your free V-Bucks or buy a bigger pack. These are some of the new skins that we’ll get over Halloween.
