Fortnite Map Returning to Chapter 1 for Season 5
Every season of Fortnite we get new map changes, items, skins, and more. After a few weeks though, players are already looking ahead at what’s coming next in Fortnite leaks. One of the biggest of these leaks this season has to be the return of the first Fortnite map. It’s gone from being a crazy sounding rumour to quite possibly Epic’s worst kept secret. What will Season 5 hold for us?

Fortnite Map Could be Coming Back
One area where we’ve seen quite a lot of leaks this season has been the original Fortnite map. Chapter 1’s original island has often been the focus of nostalgia for the game, with its rougher and less designed locale. The game has come on a lot since Chapter 1, but many layers still yearn for its return. Recently we’ve had close approximations made in the expanded Fortnite creative, but Epic might be going a step further for Fortnite Season 5.
Current leaks seem to suggest we’re getting the old Fortnite map back. A lot of this hinges on Fortnite lore, a rarely simple topic. The vampiric boss behind Chapter 4 Season 4 has a time machine. Our heist crew has already been using it to return to a very specific date, June 12th 2018.
Most recently this has manifested in-game at Frenzy Fields. This POI has had a bunch of Chapter 1 props and landmarked dropped in the center of it. Apparently, the results of a trial run with the time machine. Since then, the official Epic marketing accounts have stepped up the chapter 1 hints. Are we expecting the full original Fortnite map to come back though?
Fortnite Season 5
According to leakers, the current Chapter 4 map won’t be fully replaced next season. Instead, we’ll get a mish-mash half and half map. Large swatches of the original map will cycle in and out of our current map, replacing large patches with their original equivalents. This will apparently cycle week to week, starting with Chapter 1 Season 5. Players may be able get to revisit different C1 landmarks pretty much every week.

These are still rumours at the moment. Although, the in-game time machine is pointing towards and Epic has been hinting pretty strongly. We don’t fully know what’s coming when Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 ends. However, it does seem like Epic is definitely aware of the Fortnite map rumours and actively teasing this happening in Fortnite Season 5.
