The Dota Pro Circuit 2021-22 (DPC2021-22) CN Regional Finals are upon us!

PSG.LGD is here to reaffirm that they are the one and only designated champion of the DPC CN Regional Finals. While the spotlight is on the hotshot esports powerhouse, Team Aster, Royal Never Give Up, and EHOME were impressive for making it into the top four too.

The undisputed champion, PSG.LGD

PSG.LGD, the runner-ups at the International (TI10), are far above the rest of the league in their home region. Fans witnessed the powerhouse’s overwhelming dominance ooze out further in the DPC2021-22 Division 1 when they won every match.

Even so, you would be surprised to know that this team was barely a year old. After the former TI9 line-up parted ways, PSG.LGD was in the slums for quite some time. Eventually, they managed to form an ideal roster, which delivered phenomenal results at the WePlay AniMajor 2021.

Hailed the last remnant of PSG.LGD, Wang “Ame” Chunyu has always been the team’s wild card through and through. Alongside, are the two TI6 champions, Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida and Zhang “y`” Yiping, serving as the team’s veterans. And, not to forget, the perfect loans from EHOME, Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang and Zhao “XinQ” Zixing.

Together, PSG.LGD remains the king of the hill, second only to Team Spirit.

EHOME to challenge the status quo

They say prominent powerhouses nurture strong teams, which is the case for EHOME’s recent success. EHOME revamped their entire roster after not qualifying for TI10, and subsequently signed Phoenix Gaming’s original line-up.

Now, it’s important to note that this roster wasn’t a run-in-the-mill team since they were last DPC season’s Division 2 winners. Thus, we can consider EHOME has a good eye for rising talents, even if they aren’t seasoned players.

Perhaps that’s a major factor playing into EHOME’s recent success as well since new teams often lack proper replays to study.

PSG.LGD vs EHOME

Of course, not to disregard EHOME’s effort and perseverance thus far. EHOME has showcased their level to be on par with the big shots. In fact, EHOME gave PSG.LGD a run for their money during their last encounter, where the lather narrowly won two long games. EHOME had the right execution when it comes to dealing with seasoned foes, where they often prefer playing the late game. A tactic that many mediocre teams stray away from, instead prioritize fast midgame meta.

Unfortunately, the odds are heavily in favor of PSG.LGD at x1.14 versus EHOME at x5.13 for good reasons. In the end, the DPC2021-22 Division 1 results highly reflect PSG.LGD’s sheer strength and clean winning streak.

Expect Total Towers Destroyed by PSG.LGD to be more than 10, would rake x2.47 returns, which is reasonable since they play the game systematically. PSG.LGD is probably hungry for a bloodbath, so expect Total Kills Scored to be more than 41, at x7.41 odds.

Alternatively, if you are one to side the underdogs, betting on EHOME to win 2-0, can reward a generous x10.53 return.

Rivalry between Team Aster and RNG

Both teams are at each other’s neck since the DPC2021-22 Division 1. For the record, although Team Aster won second-place and RNG’s third in Division 1, both teams are even on the scoreboard. This makes for a quality rivalry story to narrate throughout the DPC CN Regional Finals.

Team Aster comes off as a sloppy Chinese team after landing sixteenth in TI10. They recruited Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang and Yu “Siamese.C” Yajun for a fresh start into DPC2021-22 but were met with disapproval from fans. The former midplayer, Liu “WhiteAlbum” Yuhao has had his moments and gained fame for being a flashy playmaker. Thus, the move to replace him felt off the mark when they announced the roster change.

Nevertheless, Aster once again proves that they made all the right calls heading into DPC2021-22.

RNG houses remnants of LGD

Whereas RNG has a more interesting story to tell, especially for a team of misfits. Now home to three remnants of PSG.LGD, RNG is looking like a top-tier candidate in the DPC CN Regional Finals. We have Lu “SomnusM” Yao, Yang “Chalice” Shenyi, and Yap “xNova” Jian Wei, who were all renowned players in the competitive scene.

However, these players’ stories were never always sunshine and glory. After departing from PSG.LGD, Somnus left for Elephant, a newly-debut powerhouse that’s currently inactive, while Chalice and xNova played for EHOME but to no prevalent success.

As such, being able to play for RNG and become a top seed, must have been a salvation for these players.

Team Aster vs Royal Never Give Up

Honorary stories aside, it’s a relatively even match between the two rivals. RNG is at x2.20 returns while Aster has a slight upper hand at x1.63 odds on LOOT.BET

Once again, there’s no telling how the match would pan out since there’s barely any power gap between RNG and Aster. It will boil down to what each team has up their sleeves in terms of drafts. To snatch this series, RNG must play teamfight-oriented games, since Aster enjoys hard-lock combos to instantly shut down their opponent’s playmaker. Yet, both teams aren’t very keen on just kills, so we can expect slightly above average Total Kills of 41-50, returning x2.74 odds.

Correct Scores can go both ways, but a 2-1 score has a higher probability and returns at least x3.28 profit. In hindsight, this is one match you do not want to be betting on either side, but general match stats betting markets are feasible.

The title for the Strongest Chinese Dota 2 team boils down to the DPC CN Regional Finals. With the former favorites, Invictus Gaming out of the league, it’s a tell-tale sign of unexpected upsets heading our way. Catch what the other regions are up to, namely the DPC NA Regional Finals.
