Nigma Galaxy welcomes w33 back as a full time streamer
Nigma Galaxy has recently welcomed back Aliwi “w33” Omar, but this time around, he’s not returning as a player. He will be taking on the role of a streamer and content creator for the organization. This marks a significant shift for the player who has previously competed professionally with the team.
Before his return to Nigma Galaxy, w33 had been removed from the team’s active roster. This decision was announced on April 7th, following Nigma’s disappointing performance in the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021. The team had to compete without their star player MinD_ContRoL, who had tested positive for Covid-19 a few days before the event. As a result, Nigma was the first team to be eliminated from the tournament.
W33’s last professional stint was with Team Bald Reborn in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) 2023 Tour 3: Open Qualifiers #3. Unfortunately, the team didn’t manage to qualify for Division II, leading to their forfeiture of the games.
Before his professional Dota 2 career, w33 was a renowned pub star, often compared to players like Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi. He was among the first to transition to the tier-1 scene without any prior professional Dota 2 experience. His initial journey in the professional scene started with relatively unknown teams until Team Secret noticed him in 2015. Together, they won The Shanghai Major 2016.
Nigma Galaxy’s decision to bring back w33 as a streamer and content creator has undoubtedly sparked interest among Dota 2 fans.
