The statement from IO Esports and Epulze reveals that after a thorough investigation, the evidence regarding the alleged bug abuse by Azure Ray was found to be inconclusive. The reported bug was not able to be recreated consistently, adding complexity to the investigation. Despite significant efforts, the evidence failed to establish conclusive proof of bug abuse by the team.
The Watcher bug, which was brought to Valve’s attention on July 2, allows teams to verify if they’re captured by merely pinging on them. This method works even when the Watchers are obscured by the fog. While it may seem insignificant, the bug serves as an additional information source that reveals the potential positioning of enemy players.
Despite the initial ruling, Azure Ray’s victory in game two against nouns stands, and the series did not conclude in a tie as previously reported. The team will continue in the tournament as planned.
