Counter-Strike 2 Launches Inferno Remake Alongside CS Rating

It’s been a long time coming, but Counter-Strike 2 has finally launched its revamped version of Inferno. With nearly all the base-game CS:GO maps now in CS2, it can’t be long until we reach a full release.

Inferno Is Here

After the map was first leaked a few months back, CS2 Inferno is finally here (again). With a total visual overhaul, it looks absolutely incredible in the Source 2 engine.

Upon loading the map, you’ll be immediately struck by the new look. This isn’t just a remaster – it’s a from-the-ground-up remake that will change how the map is played.

The biggest change comes to Counter-Strike 2 Inferno’s A-site, which previously was notoriously hard to take and retake. Now, Pit has received a massive nerf, while you can no longer hide in Graveyard. It’s the little changes that will make it much more playable, because right now, saving most rounds is a huge part of its meta. It’s just boring to watch!

CS Rating and More

The update also revealed the new CS Rating ranking system. Now, if you play multiplayer, you’re automatically enrolled on regional and World leaderboards in Counter-Strike 2.

On top of this, your rank is now different for every single map. That’s right – Vertiglobals are now a real thing. This means you might be a Global Elite on Mirage, but only a Master Guardian Elite on Nuke.

The new update also confirmed the MR12 update, which Buzz from Astralis recently described his “mixed” feelings on. The move sees the game move to 12-round halves, a huge change for Counter-Strike 2.

Perhaps best of all, the update widened the CS2 Limited Test to anyone with CS:GO Prime Status and an active Competitive Skill Group outside of the Oceanic region. This means that most players finally have access to Counter-Strike 2!
