It can be said that the world of CSGO esports is ever-changing and truly dynamic. Every month, the best teams ebb and flow, with dynasties and displays of dominance coming and going from competition to tournament. While some teams are arguably ‘better’ than others, there’s no one team that sits at the top of the table on a permanent level. With each passing month in 2022, the best CSGO teams will chop and change, making it hard to truly track them.

In this guide, we’re taking a look at the best CSGO teams based on their most recent 50 matches. We’re also taking into account the relative strength of their opponents at the time of each match to make the most accurate selections possible.

This list is updated monthly.

CSGO Rankings – Best CSGO teams in 2022

In 2021, there was something of a lull in terms of overall talent and ability in the world of CSGO esports. It was thought that this was mostly caused by the shift to online play, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, a return to form for CSGO esports brought along with it the return to LAN, and everything that comes hand-in-hand with that concept. It’s a much more competitive scene now, with the best CSGO players in the world looking to make a name for themselves in front of thousands of screaming fans.

In the list below, it can be said that the top three teams arguably are the ‘most dominant overall’, despite what we’ve just said about there being no one side with complete control over the board. Featuring veterans of old and upcoming superstars, this list of the best CSGO teams is as definitive as can be. It’s a diverse and dynamic world out there, and within a matter of weeks, one of the lower-ranking teams on this list may have already overtaken the team in the top spot.

If you’re interested in CSGO betting, you’ll want to take notice of this list.

1. FaZe Clan

Last year, our best CSGO teams of 2021 list didn’t even feature FaZe Clan in the top ten. However, since 2022 kicked off, FaZe Clan has entered a dominant streak, effortlessly pushing forward through its opponents and securing some monumental victories. Following a string of wins, Karrigan, an iconic player, stepped in to fill Olofmeister’s shoes, bringing his in-game leadership abilities to an already-powerful FaZe Clan unit. At the start of the year, FaZe Clan also bolstered its squad with ropz, one of the best CSGO players in the industry today.

Since 2022 opened up, FaZe Clan has stormed to the top of both the ESL and HLTV world rankings. Firstly, the team secured first place at the IEM Katowice event, smashing down G2 in a 3 – 0 final that boasted a $400,000 prize for the team. It was just weeks later that FaZe Clan won the ESL Pro League Season XV, landing a $190,000 prize. At the start of February, the squad secured a 1st – 3rd finish in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups.

There are high expectations that the team will go on to produce more victories as the year pushes on. It all begins with the PGL Major Antwerp event in May.

2. Natus Vincere

At the tail end of 2021, Na’Vi swept the PGL Stockholm Major, and iconic player S1mple secured his first-ever Major victory. It was a jubilant moment for both the team and the player, and since then, Na’Vi has remained a relatively overwhelming force in the CSGO stakes. In January, February, and March of 2022, Natus Vincere stood at the top of the HLTV CSGO rankings by a mile, dropping behind FaZe Clan in April – but not by many points.

In terms of individual talent, there are some fantastic players within Na’Vi’s current line-up. Behind FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere sits in second place on most of the global rankings tables for CSGO. They’re expected to rival FaZe in every way this year, particularly on the high-octane Major tournament stages. While Na’Vi is yet to secure a grand prize in 2022, the team waltzed into first place at several top-tier tournaments at the tail end of 2021, including:

  • IEM Cologne ($400k)
  • IGS Season 3 ($1m)
  • ESL Pro League XIV ($195k)
  • PGL Major Stockholm ($1m)
  • BLAST Premier: Fall Finals ($225k)
  • BLAST Premier: World Final 2021 ($500k)

It’s little wonder that Natus Vincere is the world’s most valuable CSGO esports team.

3. Cloud9

In April of 2022, Cloud9 returned to CSGO esports after a hiatus of almost a year. In one fell swoop, Cloud9 acquired the entire Gambit roster, a team that had been performing remarkably well in the months leading up to the acquisition.

Gambit’s roster made up one of the most consistent teams in CSGO today, boasting several big victories in the last few years. At the end of 2021, Gambit sat at the top of our best CSGO teams list, and while the squad has fallen down a couple of places, it’s not for lack of effort. Toward the end of 2021, Gambit secured some high placement finishes at some of the best CSGO tournaments out there, proving that the team had grit, determination, and above all else, ability.

For instance, Gambit narrowly missed out on a grand victory at the PGL Major Stockholm event, losing to an overwhelming Natus Vincere side. But, mere weeks before that loss, Gambit had beaten Na’Vi at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals, securing a massive $225k prize pool. Moving into 2022, Gambit showed intense talent at an A-tier tournament, the Funspark Ulti 2021, beating Entropiq in the final to secure a $150k prize.

Now, with the Gambit squad flying the Cloud9 banner, there’s no doubt that the organisation’s re-entry into the CSGO scene will be an explosive one.

4. Team Vitality

Vitality might be a relatively young contender in the space, but it’s certainly one of the best CSGO teams out there. As a squad, Team Vitality boasts some of the finest CSGO talents in the business, with a line-up featuring the likes of apEX, ZywOo, and dupreeh. In the last year or so, Team Vitality has struggled to land too many big wins, with a few exceptions, but that isn’t for a lack of trying. At the very end of 2021, Vitality secured first place at the IEM XVI Winter tournament, beating out NiP and winning a $100k prize.

Since then, the scene has mellowed slightly for Team Vitality, with the exception of a close third-place finish at the BLAST Premier: World Final. At that event, Vitality was beaten out by Natus Vincere, but not before giving it everything that the team could muster. In some ways, Team Vitality still has a lot to prove where CSGO esports are concerned, and 2022 could be the year for the team to achieve true greatness.

5. G2

G2 is a household name where CSGO esports are concerned. Since 2013, G2 Esports has been working to become one of the most valuable organisations in the industry, and its history within CSGO is almost unparalleled. In recent years, G2 has become one of the best CSGO teams to follow and to place CSGO wagers on. While G2 had a hard year in 2021 that led to many second-place finishes, there are high expectations for the team to go above and beyond in 2022.

Last year, G2 almost snatched the top prize at the BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown, IEM Cologne, the PGL Major Stockholm event, and at IEM Katowice in February of 2022. It is an unfortunate list, but G2 has only lost to the best teams in CSGO, such as FaZe Clan and Na’Vi. We still have to award credit where it’s due, as G2 has managed to amass a staggering amount of prize money in the last year, despite not landing any first-place finishes.

Will 2022 be the year for G2? It’s highly likely – if you’re eager to bet on CSGO matches, don’t sleep on G2.

6. ENCE

ENCE is something of an underdog side in the world of CSGO esports. However, that hasn’t stopped it from becoming known as one of the best CSGO teams in the industry today. Since 2013, ENCE has been steadily climbing up the charts, working to prove itself as a legitimate contender in the CSGO space. In 2022, there are high expectations for ENCE, which in April, flew up the HLTV charts to sit in fourth place behind Cloud9, Natus Vincere, and FaZe Clan.

To this day, ENCE has failed to secure a truly prolific win but has gone up against the best CSGO teams and given them a run for their money. For instance, in April of 2022, ENCE fought against FaZe Clan in the final of the ESL Pro League Season XV event, coming in second place. At the BLAST Premier: Spring EU Showdown, ENCE was able to defeat Astralis in a relatively high-value final fixture, securing a $20k prize.

In the world of esports betting, underdog sides are greatly appreciated. For 2022, we’d say that ENCE is certainly a team that bettors should be keeping an eye on.

7. Heroic

Heroic saw a ‘meteoric rise’ throughout 2020 and 2021, quickly becoming known as one of the best CSGO teams in the business. It was a prolific year for Heroic in 2021, with the team stepping up to secure huge sums of money at some of the biggest CSGO tournaments around. At the start of the year, Heroic secured first place in the ESL Pro League Season XII, before going on to achieve high placements at a string of S- and A-tier events.

Many CSGO fans have attributed the success of Heroic to key members of the squad. For instance, Casper ‘CadiaN‘ Møller, the in-game leader and driving force behind the Heroic squad. It is widely believed that Heroic will see another great year in 2022 with CadiaN at the helm. As the year opened up, Heroic logged two big wins, beating out the likes of Copenhagen Flames and Natus Vincere to secure modest first-place prizes.

Keep your eyes on Heroic this year – that meteoric rise may gain further momentum.

8. FURIA

Like Team Vitality, FURIA is a relatively young CSGO esports team, but it has enjoyed a star-studded, if somewhat brief, tenure in the industry. As arguably the bet Brazilian CSGO team in the world, FURIA has worked hard to prove itself against European and North American teams for the last five years. They’re a tenacious squad, easily matching the best CSGO teams in combat, even if they don’t walk away with a huge prize at most tournaments.

FURIA is also yet to achieve a monumental, defining victory, despite finding success at several smaller tournaments. This is a team that has proven time and again that it has the ability to take games off of the likes of Gambit, Na’Vi, and FaZe Clan. In truth, FURIA’s best year was during 2020, when the team secured near-consecutive victories at ESL and DreamHack events. This could be the year that FURIA makes a comeback.

9. Outsiders

Owing to political concerns, Virus.pro rebranded in March of 2022, becoming known as Outsiders. However, this rebrand did nothing to impact the team’s dominance, being as it is one of the oldest CSGO teams in the industry. Where CSGO esports are concerned, Virus.pro, now Outsiders, is a staple of the community. It is one of the best CSGO teams, without a doubt, but how will the team perform going into 2022?

There has been something of a minor downfall in terms of the overall rankings for Outsiders in 2022, but it’s not expected to be long-lasting. In February of 2022, the Virtus.pro roster (now Outsiders) defeated FURIA at an ESL Challenger event to secure a $50k prize. Admittedly, it was the team’s first victory since September of 2021, when the squad picked up first place at the Pinnacle Fall Series.

As Outsiders, the team is yet to make any major waves, but there will be plenty of opportunities littered throughout 2022. In 2020 and 2021, Virtus.pro proved itself as an overwhelming force, picking up the following prizes:

  • Flashpoint Season 2 ($500k)
  • DreamHack Open December 2020 ($50k)
  • cs_summit 7 ($100k)
  • IEM XV ($180k)

10. Astralis

We’re listing Astralis in tenth place on this list out of the hope that the team will return to its former glory in 2022. Once upon a time, Astralis may have been classed as the best CSGO team in the world, but times have changed. There were several disruptive roster changes that took place across 2020 and 2021 that left the team in disarray. However, they refused to quit overall, deciding instead to push onwards despite internal differences.

In 2020, Astralis experienced a monumental year, securing several high-profile wins:

  • ESL Pro League S12 ($99k)
  • DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 ($60k)
  • IEM XV ($200k)

This is a team that can easily go up against the likes of Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan and produce huge, impactful results. However, the team’s performance issues have led to a dry spell, with the latest first-place finish having occurred way back in December of 2020.

Could Astralis pull off a miracle in 2022 and climb back to the top of the table?
