Last night, the Call of Duty NEXT showcase took place, and hundreds of the world’s top Call of Duty players and creators were invited to try out Modern Warfare 3. It was a monumental event with immense production value, and it essentially revealed to us the future of CODM, Warzone, and MW3 all in one move. Speaking about Modern Warfare 3, OpTic Texas’ Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro had so much positivity about the game.
He’s typically something of a meme online, and every time a new Call of Duty is released, he claims it’ll be the best one ever. However, the numbers are stacking up in Modern Warfare 3’s favour already, and what we’ve seen of the game is impressive. There’s definitely a chance that this year’s Call of Duty release could be a contender for a high ranking – and Shotzzy was there to back up that claim.
‘This Game is Amazing’
During a brief interview, Shotzzy expressed how much he’s already enjoying Modern Warfare 3. We had a great look at how he’s already breaking the game, uncovering movement exploits and flying around the map with ease, which is his speciality. There’s a spot reserved for Shotzzy in the history books of the esports industry – he’s one of just two competitors ever to secure a world championship title in two different games.
Here’s what he had to say about Modern Warfare 3:
‘This game is amazing, man – I have nothing but good things to say about this game. I love the movement, everything about it is god-like. It moves smoothly – smoother than any other COD I’ve played. I feel like it has a mix of fast and a little bit of a slower slide-cancel, but I love it. It’s very, very fast. I’ve not broken anything, but I will say that there are these sneakers that allow you to slide and ADS, and I feel like that’s meta right now.’
He then spoke about the competitive side of the game, including the skill gap.
‘Definitely movement… I feel like slide-cancelling is going to be very OP, and then I feel like… The aim assist in this game is not as sticky as other games – I feel like mid- to far-range, it’s actually not as sticky, so… That’s definitely interesting.’
