Modern Warfare III Will Be Revealed in Warzone in Season Five

It has been announced that there will be a grand reveal event for Modern Warfare III in Warzone. This isn’t the first time this has happened, and it’s probably the most interactive and exciting way to reveal a new game. It was almost a passing statement made in the latest Call of Duty blog post, with a few words being reserved to promote the ‘Call of Duty 2023 Reveal Event’, and very little information was given to explain what’s going to happen.

It’s soaking up the interest of Call of Duty fans the world over, though. It’s probably the latest in the year that we’ve ever had a Call of Duty reveal, and given that it’s expected to drop in November, there are just three or so months until the new game releases. And so far, we haven’t got the first clue what it is. It’s basically guaranteed to be Modern Warfare III at this point, and there’s a chance it’ll be more like Modern Warfare II.5, but very little is actually known.

In the statement taken from the latest Call of Duty blog post, it was revealed:

‘Drop into Call of Duty: Warzone to experience the worldwide reveal for Call of Duty 2023 in a limited-time event. Join the ranks of Shadow Company to take on Konni forces and secure the chemical weapon threat before it’s too late. Stay tuned to Call of Duty channels for more details about the upcoming reveal.’

This news was shared along with all the necessary information to explain what’s coming in Modern Warfare II and Warzone’s Season Five update. It’s a hell of a thing, and there’s plenty of content on the way, least of all being some rather bizarre celebrity Operators such as Nicki Minaj. It was rumoured that she – along with others – would arrive in Call of Duty for a while, but in Season Five, it’ll become a reality.

In recent weeks, there have been a fair few unconfirmed leaks coming out of the Modern Warfare III project, which have almost confirmed various aspects, such as:

  • The classic ‘Ninja’ perk will be making a return, silencing footsteps in-game
  • The classic ‘Mini-map’ will also return, bringing back ‘red dots’
  • WWII’s ‘War Mode’ will be making a return
  • Perks will become ‘gear’ – gloves will have Sleight of Hand, boots will have Ninja, and so on
  • Classic maps from the history of Modern Warfare will be making a return

Are You Excited For What Comes Next?

For many, the emergence of Modern Warfare III is a saving grace, as Modern Warfare II has effectively run its course. For others, it’s the worst thing in the world, as they’re expecting nothing more than an extension of Modern Warfare II. It may have been the fastest-selling Call of Duty game in history, but that doesn’t mean it was without its issues, and players have had the rockiest time over the last year or so with the game.

Furthermore, whatever product is delivered will become the de facto title for Call of Duty esports – and that means that in a few months, the Call of Duty League 2024 season will kick off, using Modern Warfare III as a base.

Are you excited? Are you hoping that there’s a campaign early access strategy like there was with Modern Warfare II? Let us know in the comments.
