Call of Duty Warzone Mobile Gets 2022 Release, Rumors Suggest

Call of Duty Warzone is turning two-years-old this March. And oftentimes, in usual tradition, a game developer or publisher does something spectacular or big whenever a title celebrates its anniversary. Though nothing has been confirmed by publisher Activision nor developer Raven Software about Warzone’s possible celebration, rumors are spreading that a mobile version of the game might arrive this year.

Comic Book reports that the rumors came from the ever-so-famous games industry insider Tom Henderson. He mentioned on Twitter that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is currently being developed, making it the fourth Call of Duty title in the works aside from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Warzone 2, and an untitled Call of Duty title set for release in 2023.

If this rumored mobile version of Warzone could be true (well, Henderson is known for being an accurate Call of Duty leaker), it could still be far from release, unless a big announcement will be dropped anytime soon. Activision and Raven Software are still quiet about these rumors, but we will keep you posted whenever new information comes out immediately.

Call of Duty Mobile Season 2 Comes Out This Month

But you know what’s around the corner for Call of Duty? Well, the second season of Call of Duty Mobile will be live already this February 23!

One of the most awaited content being teased to come alongside Call of Duty Mobile season 2 is Modern Warfare 3’s Hardhat multiplayer map. A tweet by the official Twitter account of the game was spotted, stating “Twilight construction to maximize efficiency, so that this new location will be ready for your arrival.” Other stuff expected to be part of the new season includes a new battle pass, of course, alongside new weapons, equipment, cosmetics, and more.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Rumors Confirmed

Also, Activision Blizzard has already confirmed the rumors that a new Modern Warfare and Warzone game is in development. This took place during the company’s quarterly financial call. Work on both games is spearheaded by developer Infinity Ward. A part of the quarterly financial report pertaining to their reveal reads as:

“Development on this year’s premium and Warzone experiences is being led by Activision’s renowned Infinity Ward studio The team is working on the most ambitious plan in franchise history, with industry-leading innovation and a broadly appealing franchise setting.”

A follow-up announcement was then made through a community update in the official Call of Duty blog post.

“This year’s Call of Duty is a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019. The new game and a new Warzone experience are designed together from the ground-up. Expect a massive evolution of Battle Royale with all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode.”

A lot is in store for Call of Duty players this year for sure, and the fans are always the winners. But which of these games do you want to try and experience first? Well, only time will tell about this, so make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
