Call of Duty’s Season Five roadmap has been revealed by Activision, and it’s impressive. From celebrity Operator Bundles to new maps and from fantastic new weapons to a reveal event for Call of Duty 2023, there’s so much coming to the ecosystem over the next few weeks. In Call of Duty Season Five, there’s an all-new threat brewing, and its presence will be felt across the entire end-to-end flow of both Modern Warfare II and Warzone – and it’s setting up perfectly for the grand reveal of Modern Warfare III.
There’s so much coming in the Call of Duty Season Five update, and it’s dropping on August 2nd, 2023. That means there are just a few days left for you to grab those battle pass tokens and wrap up what’s left of your challenges this season. It’s an exciting time to be a Call of Duty fan, that’s for sure – this has been the longest wait we’ve ever had to endure for the reveal of the annual Call of Duty release.
What’s Coming In Call of Duty Season Five?
When August 2nd rolls around, a staggering amount of content will begin to roll out across the Call of Duty platforms.
For Modern Warfare II, there are five new maps coming in the season. This includes a remaster of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s Strike map, and a Las Almas-based map called Punta Mar. On those maps, players will be able to enjoy a range of new modes – Havoc, Capture The Flag (on Battle Maps), and Gunfight Variants. There will also be a few mid-season events to keep things tasty for the fans that stay engaged.
In Warzone, there’s a huge amount coming, from the two new modes – Armored Royale and Fort Resurgence – to the new vehicles – an armoured MRAP and an agile dirt bike. There’s also an exclusive event landing in the Call of Duty Season Five update called ‘Vondel Champion’s Quest’, which rewards players with some absolutely fantastic weapon skins. There’s another event that’ll see you pick a faction to fight for and rack up kills in the name of community – it’s a beautiful thing.

New Weapons and Operators In Season Five
There are some fantastic weapons surfacing in the Call of Duty Season Five update, almost all of which are iconic, returning weapons from past titles.
There’s the FR Avancer, which is instantly recognisable as the FAMAS. It’ll be the full-auto version we knew and loved from Black Ops rather than the three-round burst variant, though. Then, there’s the Carrack .300, which is the WA2000 from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). There’s the small-but-mighty M13C – the more agile variant of the M13B. Then, as the season rolls on, players will be able to pick up an MP5SD, an M1911 sidearm, and a Pickaxe melee weapon.
Why a Pickaxe, you ask?
Well, that’s probably because Lara Croft is making an appearance in Modern Warfare II and Warzone in Season Five. Not only that, but other Operator Bundles will introduce Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage, they’ll re-introduce Snoop Dogg, and they’ll offer up a tantalising return of Graves to the battlefield.
There’s new content, equipment, and tasks for the DMZ, there’s a whole new Blackcell battle pass to secure, and so much more to come – including the reveal of Modern Warfare III.
