Call of Duty 2024 Map Leak Reveals Remastered Content
In a reveal posted by a prominent Call of Duty leaker, it has been claimed that two ‘remastered’ maps have been confirmed as being in development for Call of Duty 2024. It was said that these maps are Black Ops 1’s ‘WMD’ and Black Ops 2’s ‘Grind’. While these are considered to be two of the greatest Call of Duty games of all time, there’s a portion of the community that is getting a little tired of all these remade maps and the clear lack of original content.
On November 10th, Modern Warfare 3 will be released, and every launch map will be a remastered map taken from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. There are 12 maps planned to be released post-launch, but it’s still a sticking point for certain fans – especially those who never played Modern Warfare 2 more than a decade ago.

In a tweet that has now been deleted (likely due to a claim by Activision), CoD_Perseus stated that WMD and Grind will be making a comeback for the release of Call of Duty 2024. At present, it isn’t yet known what Call of Duty 2024 will look like, but there are claims that it’ll be based around the Gulf War – for the first time in COD history. We’ll likely see many more maps remastered going forward, as reportedly, using old maps and bringing them back to life can save time and money in the development cycle.
At the moment, the future of Call of Duty is wide open, especially given the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. This record-sized deal finally closed on October 13th, bringing Activision Blizzard and its associated studios into the Xbox family.
It might be concerning that the leaks for Call of Duty 2024 – which is almost a year away from being revealed – are already surfacing. Thanks to the efforts of dataminers and insiders, more information about these in-development titles is made available with unerring consistency these days.
Are Remastered Maps Bad?
Some legendary maps have appeared in several Call of Duty games – and likely will make reappearances over time. For instance, Nuketown, Shipment, and Rust have all appeared in a string of Call of Duty games over the years, but for the most part, the fans don’t seem to mind. Even in Modern Warfare 3, which is being released next month, fans aren’t entirely disappointed with every one of the sixteen launch maps being taken from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2.
